Dunkelorange Farbe, schöne Trübung, sehr cremiger Schaum - optisch schon mal extrem ansprechend. Etwas Fruchtkompott in der Nase. Das kommt auch beim Trinken raus und wird ergänzt von herben Malznoten. Minimale Nuancen von Holz und Leder. Hopfung dezent. Wunderbar weiches, schön volles Mundgefühl. Bei den ersten 3 - 4 Schlucken ist man echt begeistert - man ist versucht zu behaupten, dass dies vielleicht das bester industriell gefertigte Zwicklbier überhaupt ist. Dann wird das Ganze aber etwas künstlich süßlich (Aspartam und Acesulfam-K lassen grüßen) und auch ein kleines bisschen kommt der Muff und Kernseife durch. Die zweite Hälfe des Glases zieht sich dann etwas und die steigende Trinktemperatur macht es sicher nicht besser. Wenn man im Supermarkt ein Bier kauft macht man damit sicher keinen krassen Fehlgriff, aber so wirklich toll ist das alles auch nicht.

Ietwat stoffig nat bierviltje

Light aroma. Big head, cloudy drk goldencolor. Light bitterness, relatively sweet. Swet finish, light body given the sweetness.

Pounder from Appalachian. BB January 02, 2025. Chilled at the store. Lo-ball as soon as I got home. Billowing with lingering froth. Half hazy, Lipton tea & honey pour. Smell is old toffee & soft biscuits, saline & molasses; soggy. Carmel-y, mildly pithy, middly sweet brown bread, gently acidic, slightly drying, a bit old. Sweet Flintstone vitamin & Aspirin finish. A hair under okay-ish. Couldn't finish it.

March 2018: 330 ml stubby bottle, from Edeka Sophienhof, Kiel. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy deep golden to brownish colour, small white head. Very malty and grainy aroma, smells like a brewery malt loft. Also biscuity notes, a hint of caramel. Malty and grainy flavour too, again hints of biscuits and caramel, also roasted almonds, decent hops. Unusual and interesting.
