At a tasting, thanks, smallish creamy head, opaque black color, aroma of roasted coffee beans, chocolate, spiciness and some berries coming through, flavor of sweet dark chocolate, berries and some ash in the back, very nicely balanced with the fruit blending in beautifully. Very good and original.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Stas. Black. Dark chocolate, roast, coffee, a bit of raspberry, sweetish, sourish hint, bitter finish, full-bodied. Really good.

Tap at the Foresters Hall, Melbourne. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, dry coffee, charcoal, spicy red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet with a dry roasty coffee liqouirce, dry hop bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

500ml bottle. Pours dark and thick with a strong brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and a little dusty toast character. Flavour has the same bitter coffee up front, a hint of tart raspberry and then a long sweet chocolate finish. There’s a little alcohol heat that builds up too. For me, that raspberry hint could be a little stronger, but it’s still pretty irresistible. The body lacks the silky smoothness of Kereru’s Imperial Nibs, as there’s a little too much carbonation for the style.
