500 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/8/2016. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big peach, apricot, pineapple, tangerine, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, peppercorn, light pine, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, straw, grass, musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, apricot, pineapple, tangerine, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, peppercorn, light pine, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, straw, grass, musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spiciness, pine/herbal bitterness, and light tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of peach, apricot, pineapple, tangerine, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, peppercorn ,wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Brett saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and quite refreshing to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

The beer is a light-ish orange-tan color. The liquid is clouded through, opaque. The head is white and large. Lots of lacing. Good retention. The aroma has a lot of hay and orange to it. Dusty farmhouse goodness. Not much funk. The brett seems more fruity. Citrus juiciness to it, which is nice but somehow doesn’t work perfectly. There’s just an acid edge, like sugar free lime juice or something. Not really tangy, just light, odd bitterness. It’s no big deal. Some nice simple malt flavor, fresh and light. Taste is lightly sweet with mild bitterness. Moderate astringency. Lots of citric hoppiness. A little bit more tropical with some pineapple coming through. Again, that bitterness is just a little off somehow. Feel is perhaps a bit heavier than I’d like. Medium body with some slickness. It’s a very good beer, but something about the hops could a tweak for me.

Bottle. Pours clear orange, large puffy off-white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is a citra-Brett thing, tropical and exotically funky, hints of dust and field grass. Flavor is dry, light bitter with light plus funk, basement Brettiness with a tropical citrus dry hopping that blends so well with the Brett. Lightish body, fairly high carbonation. This here is in my sweet spot. Loving it.
