You like beer. You like tangy grapefruits. You're really going to like twisted grapefruit IPA. We use super-citrussy mandarina bavaria hops along with zesty classic chinook and, just to make sure, we lob in loads of real grapefruits, hand-chopped by Barbara who has the best knife skills in the brewery. What follows is bright, pithy, juicy heaven - twisted grapefruit IPA.

Can from Tescos. Amber/gold pour with a white head. Heavy grapefruit nose with a splash of lemon and lime. Same action in the flavour. To coin an over used phrase- does exactly what it says on the tin.

Clear, golden colored, small white non lasting head. Aroma is of some malt, mostly grapefruit juice, some citrus and caramel. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, caramel, grapefruit juice, some citrus, medium+ bitterness, dry finish, some toasty notes. Medium- bodied, soft carbonation. Feels like a grapefruit radler, and an artificial one... (can, Tesco, Bedford)

13th April 2017: I am at one with the world. Fourth beer of a ’random tasting session’ with myself. 330ml can: BBD 28th Feb 2018. Poured slowly into a ’Forbidden Fruit’ chalice, off-white, uneven head on an amber body, clear, clean and bright. Subdued grapefruit nose, lot more prominent in the flavour. Tangy feel and slightly over carbonated for my palate, but different and interesting: a bit sweeter than I expected, but a decent ’Pink Grapefruit’ sort of beer.

Can from Tesco. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Strong grapefruit aromas, fresh and zingy. Taste is more malt-forward. The juiciness promised on the nose is not really delivered. Light bitter finish.

Bottle. Clear pale amber with moderate off-white head. Big grapefruit nose that is very pleasant still feels a bit overdued or even surrogate. Light to medium body. Oily texture. Bittersweet taste. Subtle biscuit malts in the background and solid resiny bitterness. Grapefruit is in there yet it is not that well mixed into the composition.

Smell of lonkero. Pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of lonkero with a strong maltiness coming through. Also some soap. Wild carbon. Mildly bitter. Unbalanced.

Fat på Tempo Malmö. Smak och doft av humle, malt och grapefruktjuice med toner av granskott. Frisk, lätt kropp, krispig, stor sötma, juiceaktig, beska med smak av grapefrukt. Lite enahanda.
