Penang > Singapore rail excursion: a small bottle from Antarabangsa off-licence, Georgetown, drunk in the hotel just down the road. Aroma: only lightly aromatic, roasted, some coffee. Appearance: opaque cola, negligible head. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, carbonation is unexpectedly fizzy, the finish is rather abrupt. Taste: well-roasted with some sweet notes; not very chocolatey but some coffee flavour comes through. This one leaves no lasting impression and is rather lacking in character.

Bottled. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted, chocolaty, some alcohol, and mild toffee. Flavour is fruity, toffeeish, roasted and some chocolaty tones and some mild alcohol tones.

--Bottled, from Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. -- Black, rich firm head. RIch chocolate aroma. Mid dry with solid body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate dominate, but no cakeyness, more dark pure cocoa. Mid bitter finish. Not complex at all, but rather elegant and decidedly full flavoured.

Tap at Beer Hunters. It's years when I last time had a beer from Saigon. Toasted, coffeish and ashy aroma. Medium-bodied. Coffeish, chocolaty, ashy flavour. Some licorice hints too. A bit sweet, not much on hop side. Okish.

ABV: 6.3%. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, chocolate, cocoa, sweet malt, dark malt, moderate roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, chocolate, cocoa, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190926]

Sampled at Borefts Pre-Tasting 2019. Dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma is a bit dodgy I'd say. Flavor is malts, brown malts, dark caramel and rye notes. 6-3-6-3-13

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is cocoa, chocolate, nice character. Taste is cocoa, chocolate, on the sweet side, simple but good. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Alright.
