This ale is brewed by the Meantime Brewery using 7 different malts and British hops from Kent to produce a very well balanced, traditional porter, a style of ale which dates back to 1750. It's been given a fantastic, Belgian-inspired twist with the flavours of rich salted caramel.

From tap at Heren van de Rechter, Steenwijk. As "Meantime Salted Caramel Porter". Aroma is caramel malt with soft salty notes, touch of toffee and mocha. Flavour is sweet and nicely bitter for the style, body is medium but feels a bit thin to carry the aroma. Overall pretty nice Porter.

As still WFH and I likle the stats am adding on historical ticks. When the brewery first opened they were giving away samples at a local garden centre, where I tried this. Having had Wild's equivilant shortly before this was a letdown.

Can: Poured a brown black with a tan head. Aroma is malty with some caramel. Taste is malty, weird fake flavor that ruined it for me. Drain pour!

Can from Jim - cheers! Chestnut colour with a thin beige head. Looks thin, but body is about average. Aroma is a little metallic with fake caramel sauce. Tastes better than it smells, with cheap chocolate caramels balanced against a mild roastiness. The salt comes through in the aftertaste, and there's a light but lasting aftertaste of malt and nuts. It grew on me, but was still just ok by the end.
