The pleasure of yesteryear
Velvety matte shine – Smooth, full-bodied flavor
Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian.
Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.
Our Munich Kellerbier, a beer like from the good old days when beer was born. After aging four weeks, it is bottled unfiltered, which still preserves all its yeast vitamins and trace elements.

On tap at Gasthaus Georg Ludwig in Maising. Great pour in stone mug, lasting head, fine foam. Clean, spicy, grain nose. Flavor is nicely malty with full bodied grain notes, smooth earthy bitterness. Way better and fresher than when I've had it from the bottle.

(Draught at Maximilians, Mitte, Berlin, 27 July 2022) Deep golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Malty, slightly spicy nose with notes of bread, grain, herbs, orange peel, plums and caramel. Malty, slightly spicy taste with bread, caramel, plums and a mild herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Golden colour, hazy, large rocky head that disappears fast. Aroma is not very complex, with white bread, malt, a bit of banana and herbs. Light bitterness. Medium body, lively carbonation that is too high and makes it hard to feel the taste and aroma. It's like drinking a heavily saturated sparkling water. I like Kellerbier and to me this one is not in style and simply does not drink well.

Bottle at home, slightly over the March 22BB, too many damn beers in the garage to manage, in the garden with a barbecue, 15th June 22, pours a clear golden. Aroma is honey, light caramel. Taste is caramel, straw, mellow, some yeast, honey, sweetness. Not bad.

Bottle. Cloudy dark orange/gold featuring a beautiful dense white head. Aroma of caramel, forest honey, red berries, earthy hops and traces of vanilla. Taste of caramel, honey, grains, stone fruits and berries. Slightly herbal and sweet. Medium bitterness. Low carbonation. Soft creamy mouthfeel. Nice one.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear, honey-gold with a modest, creamy white head. Lightly sweet with crispy cereal, sun-kissed pale grain, light bitter hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean finish, crispy biscuits, hay, more lightly toasted cereal. Drinks nicely.
