From old tasting notes. Pours an opaque black color topped by a huge foamy brown head. Big sweet roasted malt nose. Mildly sweet roasted mal upfront. Notes of milk chocolate and coffee in middle. Notes of burnt caramel and coffee with spicy hops in finish. Decent.

Obviously this isn’t as good as the lion stout, which due to floods is ATM (very sadly) very difficult to get in Sri Lanka. It’s still a nice stout, especially if you’ve been drinking kingfisher for 3+ weeks... Comes with a dark frothy head when poured. Aroma is quite nice, dark malts, roast and liquorice are very noticeable with some booze in the background. Flavour is rather mild considering the abv. Creamy and malty mouthfeel followed by a very roasty taste full of caramel. Could be more complex but it’s a nice beer overall.

16oz can in Sri Lanka (8.8%) pours a murky black with some sudsy tan head. Nose is earthy, soil, dark brown sugar/molasses, some pencil lead, cheap chocolate, licorice. Doesn’t smell bad, just smells like a bunch of adjuncts. Flavor follows, cheap licorice, even some bubblegum, rootbeer lollipops, some brown sugar, cola. Just sweetness. Slick finish.
