Imperial Pilsner rules with 8.7% ABV. Brewmaster Dan personally selected the special heirloom barley malts that originated in Wisconsin, Indiana, Germany and Czech Republic. Hops are a respectably assertive 55 IBU blend of Diamant, Hersbrucker and Spalt. Our favorite double decoction brew was followed by a long Cellar rest with final fermentation in this can. No matter if you Carpe Diem or YOLO, this one is at its boldest best today.

This beer pours a clear golden color and consistent bubbliness, and a medium thin white head that burns away steadily to a wispy film. Sticky strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, yeast and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of floral hops, fruity yeast and caramel malt. The finish is crisp with an herbal yeast and fruity hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

12oz bottle c/o Ryan. Imperial Pils is an odd style to me, hard to judge. This one pretty much tastes like a bright hopped Heller Bock, not far removed from Maibock but more restrained and balanced. Big ABV, but drinks quite clean and nice. Pretty solid offering, well executed.
