You have the freedom to be bold. Our Independence Stout is an intense dark ale that encompasses a range of rich and complex flavor profiles. The malts, fruit esters, hops, and alcohol are harmoniously in balance. Not for the faint of heart due to its aggressive nature and high alcohol content, therefore this beer is to be savored and respected.

On tap at East West, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out paint thinner, medium roast and alcohol. Flavour brings out lots of gasoline, alcohol, medium roast, some paint thinner and cloying sweetness. Messy in every way you can think - too sweet, too boozy, too disharmonious. They shouldn't be brewing something like this without having first nailed the gentler styles. Not good.

Tap at the Brewpub, HCMC. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken light tan head. The aroma is roasty, smoky malt, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a smooth rich roasty, alcoholic fruit, liqourice bitter palate and a long, slightly burning alcoholic bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. The alcohol is well hidden given the ABV.
