Swirl - 5% Vanilla & Cherry Ice cream Sour
At the start of the month we asked the women of Kegbelly to design a beer for International Woman's Day on the 8th Feb. Emma, Tash, Ash and Lilly created the style, ABV, design brief and even joined us for the brew day. Swirl is brewed with 80kg of Sour Cherry puree and 2 litres of Bourbon Madagascan Vanilla Extract. We've sweetened it right up with a mix of Lactose and Maltodextrin to mimic the texture and flavour of ice cream.

Tap at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Bright red with a small white top. The cherries add a nice fruitiness and a mid-tart sourness. The vanilla and lactose gives a smooth sessionable quality and is not overdone to be too sickly or rich. Good balance and is tasty. Soft to fine carbonation. Good.
