Returning to familiar grounds with "Devil Moon" a firm favorite from last winter. In this winter's version, we have added Dark Munich and increased the % of Oats in the grist. Changed hop profile to Pacific Gem all whole cone added post 90min boil at 80c for aroma but still plenty of bittering hops in the boil for balance.
Resulting in a jet-black stout with a stubborn tan head, huge dark chocolate, and big juicy blackberry notes, A full chewy mouth feels balanced with roast and hop bitterness.
More approachable 5% abv but with more Umph!
We are all very happy with the result, a definite improvement on an already solid PROPER stout.
