Rum barrel-aged traditional mead with wildflower honey.

Traditional Tales is a limited series of barrel-aged traditionals where the barrel is the main author. Quality honey, booze and oak melds together to create a sweet, complex concoction made for sipping.

----------------------- Rum Rendezvous (2022) -----------------------

Alluring scent of floral honey, vanilla and coconutty rum notes remindful of piña colada. The sweet, flowery honey is kept in balance by the firm booze character and the lightly tannic finish from the aging in oak. Sweet notes of tropical rum, fluffy vanilla custard and brown sugar lingers forever.

Barrel origin:
Very old Plantation rum from Barbados (11 months aging)
*These barrels originates from around the 90's. They were used to make whiskey by Willowbank Distillery before they were shipped to Barbados to further age rum. Willowbank ceased operation all the way back in 1997!*

Honey variety:
Wildflower (Sveen Vestre - Løten)

*The vintage year shows the harvest year of the honey*

Bottle. More or less clear, golden, yellow hue. Oily, still. Rum notes on the nose, oak, booze, honey and some flowery hints. Full body, sweet, still. Incredible viscosity. Sweet flavor, honey, flower hints, some citrus, rum, alcohol, wood and vanilla. Lasting finish. Really nice, but sure needs to be enjoyed in small quantities. 250418
