Our 100% Brettanomyces-fermented Belgain strong pale ale released once a year to celebrate our founding. It’s fermented and aged in a solera system of wine barrels, and each year we pull a portion of the aged beer for serving and replace it with fresh beer. This creates a continously evolving beer while maintaining a common thread year to year. This year we blended a fresh batch fermented in stainless with the third pull from our solera barrels.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep orange golden hue with a large white head. A big woody, zesty citrus nose. Funky lemons, tart, fresh oak, fairly vibrant palate, sour sawdust. Quite nice. Not too sharp.

Bottle pour at Shelton Brothers. Deep vinous, grape-forward nose with lovely brett notes. Some oak as it warms. Good carbonation and booze hidden well. Some dark fruit and faint hops on the palate. More earthy, vinous character and brett on the finish. Somehow feels light as well. Nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Anniversaria on 30 Oct 2016 at 01:42 - Score: 8
