Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is yeast, light medicinal, sour red berry fruit, some alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a soft woody hop, rich fruity, alcohol liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours a dark deep ruddy color with a beige head. Aromas of yeast/spice/malt. Tingles in the nose. Med + body. Flavor is darkish fruit/yeast/spice/malt. It isn’t dry. It is lightly bitter. Kind of a cross between a (dare I say) tripel and a doppelbock. Might be a slight chocolate touch. The sweetish darkish fruit is nice. Not really bothered by any heat sensations. Pretty good drink for an evening.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with red highlights and a medium sized foamy tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was toasty and woody with notes of fig, date and a bit of cola. The flavor was woody, toasty and malty with notes of cola, faint dark fruits, black licorice and a bit of alcohol. Medium length finish. Slightly watery body. Disappointing.
