In late spring 2022, we received a batch of 2-year-old Danish Shipyard Ale that had been aged in Chardonnay barrels at the Baghaven Blenderia from passionate port lover Ehren Schmidt. We carefully blended it with 1-year-old lambic and a touch of very young lambic. After an additional 2 years of aging in Bordeaux barrels, we finalized it with a 50/50 ratio of lambic and Danish Shipyard Ale.

MBCC. Hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, white wine, wood and barnyard. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 230525

Pours unclear blonde, no real head. Scent is funky, raw. Taste is full, smooth, raw and intense acidity. No real bourbon. Spicy acidity in the back. Fairly raw.

2022 vintage. 750mL bottle at La Fruitiere, pours a cloudy bright golden orange with a small white head. Aroma has some dusty white wine barrels, moderate funk, and citrus zest. Flavour is wonderfully funky and vinous, with lots of wine must, citrus zest, and barnyard funk. Excellent blend, with the wine barrels wonderfully expressed.

[2022 Vintage] 750mL bottle at La Fruitiere. Pours murky blonde with a white head. Nose has a bunch of musty grape skins and a good amount of funk. Flavour is similar, dry and funk with a very nice, pungent grape must. Very good.
