Okie is an imperial brown ale that we aged in bourbon barrels, and we’ve taken that barrel aged base and added our favorite blend of roasted coffee. The intense coffee flavors are complemented by notes of caramel, toffee, and vanilla resulting in a boozy, sweet and aromatic experience.

So unrepentantly sweet, although the coffee does add a needed bitterness to the brown sugar extravaganza of regular Okie, giving a dark, roasted depth to the original’s cocoa and caramel-tinted booziness. Man, hard to get a grasp on anything but the sweetness in this pint; almost no hops, some oak and vanilla on the back end, and a massive wave of bourbon on the fade. Pours a solid brown with an off-white head and modest lacing. Nose is straight chocolate and whiskey. Alcohol is hidden, but the texture still seems thin. Complex, yeah, but way, way too sweet.
