Okie is an imperial brown ale that we aged in bourbon barrels, and we’ve taken that barrel aged base and added our favorite blend of roasted coffee. The intense coffee flavors are complemented by notes of caramel, toffee, and vanilla resulting in a boozy, sweet and aromatic experience.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Clear mahogany with beige head. Lots of fresh coffee beans, vanilla, toffee, caramel, light spices, green chilies, light cocoa. Lots of very fresh coffee beans here. Over medium sweet and under medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Very nice.

(330ml bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours very deep brown with a small tan head that leaves a ring and lace. Aroma is very heavy on coffee beans with a vegetal/green pepper note, backed by raw sugar, dark caramel, nuts, oak, and light vanilla. Flavour is quite sweet compared to the nose with brown sugar and caramel in full force along with raisings, but still quite heavy on coffee beans, moderate roast, nutty, vanilla, whiskey. Remains quite sweet into the finish but a bit more bitterness helps dry things. Finish has coffee beans, earthy wood, slightly herbal, with a bit of alcohol heat. Smooth medium-full body is sticky and syrupy with low carbonation. Coffee addition really drives the nose but the base beer comes into play more on the tongue. Indulgent, slow post dinner sipper.

Tap at Gollem. Pours very dark Brown. Smell is super-intense coffee. Some biscuit as well. Taste is full, coffee. Very gentle, intense on the coffee, but really mellow, not to Sharp. Vanilla. Very creamy. Not bad at all, even though the scent made me fear.

Bottle at Gollem, Antwerp. BA strong brown ale with coffee beans, this can’t go wrong... Sticky, pale greyish beige, moussy head, very dark chestnut brown robe with burgundy hue. Strong, fascinating and delicious aroma of candied cherry, vanilla-like oak, coffee grounds, tawny port, toffee, sugared milk, molasses, cola, blackberry. Sweet candied cherry and date onset, some candi sugar sweetness but nothing cloying and perfectly balanced with a dryness from the wood which increases towards the finish; softish carbo, caramelly malt sweet backbone with nutty edges, retronasal vanilla tannins, vinous ending with port-like effect, warming alcohol, complex. What a beauty...

Brewdogs Sheps Bush. Keg. Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Sweet smooth malts, creamy sweetness. Resinous fruits. Little fruity whisky. Earthy coffee - espresso. Smooth sweetish finish with dried fruits. Pretty intense, both on the tongue and the wallet.
