Barrel aged saison with boysenberries.
Appreciation is a barrel-aged farmhouse ale fermented with boysenberries and our resident funk. After several months in red wine barrels it has taken on a mouth-watering acidity a whiff of the barnyard, and stronger aromas and flavors attributed to the fruit. Appreciation's ruby red color entices welcoming another sip, another clink of glasses with friends, another moment of contentment and contemplation! With gratitude, we humbly offer our appreciation.

On tap at at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Batch 6 I believe. Pours red with small white head. Fruity, cherries, lots of berries, citrus, lemon, some red wine, underlying wood. Smooth, medium bodied. Top stuff.

(thanks for sharing!) Sampled draft @ The Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Day 1. Bright red. Nose is very puckering acidic & vinegar cherry. Taste is puckering harsh cherry, cherry pits, vinegar, red bezzies, acidic, yoghurt. Acidic yoghurt. Nice but a bit too harsh or just right for some looking at the score.

Sample from Batch #3 at Kurtkeller 027: Sante Adairius-tastic 01 on 07/30/2017. Hazy pinkish-red color with a medium pinkish-white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of berries, oak, yeast and vanilla. Medium body with flavors of tart berry, vinous oak, yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is tart with a red wine and berry aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Draught @ Brus. Pours red with a smooth head. Aroma of berries, funky yeast, tartish bretta, sourness and wood. Taste is sour, heavy with berries, oak, tart fruits, wood and funky yeastiness. Finish is tart, sour and funky with some berries, wood and oak. Wow, quite tasty and balanced.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. This one has a raspberry red cloudy, kinda dark colored body with a small pinkish red hued head leaving lots of small dots. Smells really nice. Quite woody, sour rhubarb, mild acidic apple vinegar. Not extreme in any direction but still quite nice and red fruity. Tastes quite good also. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it's just below average on the carbonation. Sweet berries, some white currants - lingering all the way. Quite a sharp and precise one this. Not bad at all. 14.05.2016
