Bottle shared @Luppolo Station (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino media, discretamente persistente. Al naso sentori di caffรฉ, cioccolato, melassa, liquirizia. In bocca รจ rotonda e corposa, appagante, dolce all'attacco con finale amaro e caffettoso a bilanciare. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Ottima... 3 anni e non sentirli!

Can. Nose is chocolate, soy, salt, hint of ash. Taste is salt, soy, licorice, prunes, herbal hop note, chocolate, vanilla, chocolate ice cream, ash, toffee, hint of whisky and peat, hazelnut, almost sour note in the dry, bitter finish. For some reason I didn't review the 2017 edition when I had it last year, so my only notes are from 2014, I think this might be a little more hop forward

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham and shared with the Bangkok crew. Poured a clear dark brown colour, with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is rich roasty malt, light caramel, boozy, liqouirce alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, liqouirce bitter with a smooth, rich, roasty, liqouirce, light charcoal, light chocolate, coffee vanilla, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate and a lingering liqouirce bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

F: big, dark tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: chocolate, cocoa, dark dried fruits, coffee, oats, vanilla touch, bit vinous. T: chocolate, roasted tones, cocoa, dry on the palate, long lasting prominent bitterness, coffee, charcoal, caramel, dark fruits, rich full body, lower carbonation, very nice balanced, bit too much coffee roasted tones here yet enjoyable for sure, 33cl bottle (bottled 16/11/17) from Malt Attacks in Brussels.

Can picked up from Buxton Brewery online shop. Consumed at home Saturday 24th November 2018 whilst cooking Chicken Kiev with Watercress and Stilton Pours as 'black as yerโ€™ โ€™at, with a large toffee coloured head. A bit of creamy vanilla, chocolate and coffee on nose. It's got a bit of warmth from the abv. Its a very good beer but bettered by the Kentucky Woods that I had from them recently. 44 cl can @ Konttori. Canned 25.09.18, BBE 25.09.23. Aroma has licorice, pine needles, resin and sweetish malt. Flavour has grapefruity hoppiness, licorice, some herbs. Finishes with mild hop burn and ash. Good, could work even better with less hops.
