Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Black, small beige head. Huge aroma of bourbon, treacle and licorice. Very sweet with full body and rounded, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Treacle dominates. Bourbon and salmiak are evident. Warming finish. Big, bold and sticky.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours black-brown with a dense, lasting frothy brown head. Medium sweet, gorgeous dark malts, ash, layered chocolate, roast. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Lightly warming finish, more rounded dark malts, bittersweet dark chocolate. Awesome layered dark malt character.

330ml bottle. Sweet, peaty and woody with hints of rye, bourbon, toffee, syrup and ashy notes, some licorice, roastiness, coffee and dark chocolate. Feels surprisingly peaty for a bourbon barrel stout.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 06/03/21. Black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, chocolate, molasses, spice, dried fruits, dates, cacao nibs. Taste comprises dark malts, cocoa powder, treacle toffee, molasses fruit cake, light spice, brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent straight up impy stout but lacks a little complexity for me to hit the 4 barrier.
