Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, ash and bitterness. A delicious burnt brew with pleasant and complex burnt notes.

Bottled 16NOV17. Pours black, good thickness, little head of brown foam. Smells oldschool roasty. Great smooth and thick mouthfeel, some efficient carbonation. Taste is heavy, roasty, bitter, pretty licorice-forward. The way classic stouts should be.

Keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Dark brownish black with a thin ring of tan head. Ciffee grounds, salted caramel on the aroma. Perfectly bittersweet taste with the sugary caramel being held back by earthy hop. More caramel, underripe blackberry and ash on the finish. Thick, syrupy body. Low carbonation. Masterful!

Taste comprises dried fruits, more bitter roast, scorched brown, dried fruits, cocoa powder, charr. Full bodied, fine carbonation, balanced rising boost at the curtain call. Decent.
