Cask at the Monks Retreat, Reading. Amber with a thick creamy head. Sweet and fruity up front then a slight herbal, minty note followed by earthy leaf mulch and a little smoke. Definitely got that dark fruits and woodland note of my wife’s elderberry jam, so the elderberries are showing through. Not bad, possibly needs a little more oomph but I like the flavour.

2nd Nov 2015: third of a pint in the Moon Under Water, Boston Lincolnshire. Decent enough blend, amber body with a red hue, off-white topping. Fruity nose and taste with some floral notes in the aroma and a semi-sweet malt laden flavour all rolled up in a well balanced feel and pleasant beer.

Cask @ Paramount, Manchester. Amber-red with a creamy head. Malty, fused with a smoothish and light tasting berry fruitiness. Crisp enough although not overly flavoursome with a light berry-sweetness in its aroma.

Cask at the Greyhound (JDW), Maidenhead. Reddish copper in colour with a scummy looking cream head; floral aroma; smooth and grainy textrue and a really fruity taste with a touch of sour cherry; then a crisp finish with some citrus. I rather liked this.
