Cask at GBBF 2017. Pours mostly clear with a small, foamy head. The nose has some toasted grains, light toffee. Light to medium sweet flavour with nips of toffee, vanilla, more toasted bread. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Balanced finish, with some toasty brown bread, leathery dark fruits. Not bad.

Cask at GBBF. It pours clear deep brown with medium beige head. The aroma is earthy, toasted nut, earthy, wood, leather and a touch of caramel. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, earthy roast, leather, wood, toasted nut and earth with a dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Not much depth, but drinks easy. OK.

Cask at the Vine. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is roasted malt, light smoke, light cream. The flavour is moderate light liqourice malt with a light, smooth, woody hop, nutty sweet malt palate. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. The best mild I ever had.

Pint at the Britannia, Upper Gornal. Light to mid-brown, translucent. Weak aroma of berry, malt, cola nut. Taste is lovely. Sugary sweet with a slight fruity bitter aftertaste... creamy mouthfeel. A very good traditional mild. Don’t expect fireworks but it’s good all the same.

On gravity at the Somerset Real Ale Festival, Minehead 7/9/2013. Medium brown with a slight of an off-white head. Hazelnuts, milk chocolate, brown sugar and a touch of berry fruit before a very gentle finish. Very drinkable.

From notes. Medium amber color with a thick white head. Aroma of caramel and light spice. Malty flavor with a slightly bitter edge. Nice enough.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2007. Ruby colour with bubbly beige head. Odd smokey aroma. Some yeast. Has some very light caramel malt. It is extremely mild, but not poor because of that. Good example of the style. Malts are decent.
