Cask @ Bull & Bladder, Bathams brewpub, paired with a pork pie and mustard from the bartop fridge. Pours a deep clear amber, small off-white head. Aroma is light caramelised malt. Very light on the palate, gentle caramel, gentle malt grain.. a classic that really should be drunk by the gallon, but unfortunately I had to make do with a half. Next time!

Cask at GBBF’17, day one, 08/08/17. Drank a good few gallons of this back in my days living in Brum and the Black Country but time to catch up on a rate ! Rich mahogany/chestnut brown with a decent light beige cap. Nose is biscuit, toffee, grains, brown bread. Taste comprises brown bread, dried fruits, glimmer of honey, dusty, biscuit crumbs. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Decent ’classic’ mild.

Cask at GBBF ’17, 11/08/17. Chocolate aroma with a sour more medicinal/red wine edge. Reddish brown. Frothy off-white head. Sweet. Fruity. Sweet liqueur. Malt base. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Muted finish.I know I am going to score it much higher than average but I really like a beer like this. Goes down so easy.
