Get a little psychedelic and a little out of this world with our latest Community Beer, Cosmic Eye, brewed in support of the Calgary Underground Film Festival. Cosmic Eye is a West Coast IPA that pairs perfectly with slightly unusual but wholly interesting film and your favourite cinema snacks.
A beer brewed for Underground Film deserves something a little different so when we dreamt up this recipe, we were sure to add a new experimental hop, HBC 1019. HBC 1019 is a little creamy with tons of sweet fruit and citrus. To get that classic westie flavour of grapefruit, tangerine and bitterness, we went with Amarillo and Citra hops. All told, this beer smells of tropical sweetness, white gummy bear and lychee with a snappy, piney bitter flavour.

Pours a clear gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Fruity aroma of pale malt, grapefruit, apricot and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of pale malt, tangerine, honeydew melon and piney hops in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Could use more bitterness. Just ok. Their hazies are much better.
