A bit sweet, with a lightly hopped flavour and an even dextrinous body. Our take on a traditional red ale.

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby Pours a dark copper with a small white head and good lacing. Malts and corn combine in a distinct aroma. A good mix of flavours in the mouth too, with malts, nuts, oranges and ginger. Finish is slightly spicy. A good traditional best bitter – its not a golden ale.

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a whispy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is malt, light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with smooth caramel malt hop bitter palate and lingering bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. This went down so well!
