After years of deepening friendship, brewmaster Lenka Straková visited our brewery back in November to brew Franz Kolaborativní Přátelství Ležák (Collaborative Lager). This hop-forward Czech-Style Pale Lager features Saaz Comfort; a modern hop variety grown in Bohemia as part of the Odolchmel Project, a joint initiative of the Research Institute of Brewing and Malting and the Hop Research Institute in Žatec. Named in honour of the man behind the early 20th century electrical plant that now houses Lenka’s brewery on the grounds of Pilsner Urquell, this beer features delicate notes of wildflower, crusty bread, and delicate spice.
