Everyone in the brewery loves dark lagers. Yet, we'd never made one. Why? "Nobody drinks them." Bet. Meet Something Dark, our new German-style Dunkel, a simple but satisfying dark lager we think you - like us - will love.
What You’ll Love About It
You may be surprised by the complexity of this dark lager. Aromas of caramelized sugar, bread crust, and coffee are balanced with flavours of dark chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, and morning toast.
How It's Made
Munich, Vienna, Crystal, and Chocolate malts are combined with a touch of Blackprinz, a very dark malt that undergoes a process to remove typical bitterness and astringency from dark malts. Two additions of Ontario Heritage + our house German lager yeast strain finish off the project.

Draft at C’est What in Toronto. Number one with a bullet. Spicy hops. Nearly opaque dark brown color. Creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma hints at bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, coffee and spicy hops. Dry, bitter finish.
