Cask-conditioned at the Dragon, Worcester, 22/3/2014. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Big, roasted malts, some plain chocolate and a decent, dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Pitch black, thin beige rim
Aroma of soft roasted malts, bit burnt aroma, toasted malts
Taste of roasted malts, some burnt notes, dark sweet malts, some coffee roast
Palate - light to medium body, soft mouthfeel, some sweet malts

Cask at The Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a crude oil black colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma is weak, dry, malty and with fruity notes. The flavour is medium bitter with massive coffee, dark chocolate, malt and some rich fruit with a hint of spicy bitterness on the palate. A super beer packed with flavour that really grew on me.
