Our Black Lager is an homage to the traditional German-style Schwarzbier. German for “black beer”, this Schwarzbier is a light-bodied, mildly bitter dark lager brewed with toasted malts. Smooth with a faint ruby hue, swirling with notes of caramel and wafts of coffee on the nose. 4-packs available for those who will inevitably seek a litre of this luscious small batch liquid to enjoy at home.

Smell of roasted malt, tar. Black colour, tiny beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some mämmi. Medium bitter. Lively soft carbon.

(Keg at Punavuoren Ahven, 20250519) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, chocolate and mildly grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, grass, dark chocolate, sweetness, hints of ash and soft bitterness. Aftertaste had sweetness, ash, grass and bitterness. Too much ashtray like flavours. Also, a little bit watery. Good looking.
