Svart med tykt fingerhøyt brunt skum. Luktet at den har ligget i gode fat. River faktisk litt i nesa. Espresso, svisker og pepper er også med i luktbildet. Fyldig. Søtlig hovedinntrykk. Kakao, mørke frukter, sviske, litt portvinfølelse. Alkoholen ligger der til avsluttningen.

Nice brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and dry, oak, dark malts, dark sugar, licorice, minerals, bark, alcohol, weeds, anise. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, oak, minerals, grass, alcohol, dark sugar, dark malts, sour coffee, anise, weeds, bark. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish watery mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bottle. A really dark brown beer, almost headless beer. Some light tan foam. Lightly boozy, lightly spiced aroma with lots of dark flavors. Licorice, roasted malts, dark chocolate, some prunes and brown sugar. Lovely bourbon, both in aroma and flavor, some wood hints, with a nice bitterness, a matching sweetness and brown sugar, roasted malts and some licorice. Full body and a smooth carbonation, pleasant alcohol warmth. Lasting roasted, boozy finish. Wonderful. Far from easy drinkable, but a lovely beer for an hour or two in the favorite chair. Sure need to buy some bottles. 160128
