Rich in a range of crystal malts our second take on the classic Scottish 80 Shilling style includes date syrup to accentuate the rich date, raisin, and burnt caramel and toffee flavours of this malt forward deep ruddy ale

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a dark ruby with medium sized foamy cream head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just vague malty hints. In the mouth it is sweet (but with a little underlying sharpness) and a thick creamy texture. Flavour has malts, caramel and a hint of rye with traces of figs, dates and autumn fruits coming later. Finish is sweet and fruity. This is reasonable – though a little on the bland side.
