Turbodog® is a dark brown ale brewed with pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. This combination gives Turbodog® its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate, toffee-like flavor. Turbodog® began as a specialty ale, but has gained a huge, loyal following and has become one of our flagship brews. This ale pairs well with most meats and is great served with hamburgers or sausages. It is a good match with smoked fish and can even stand up to wild-game dishes. Turbodog® is also great for marinating and braising meats and cooking such things as cabbage and greens. Colby, Gloucester, Cheddar and blue cheeses go nicely with Turbodog®. It’s perfect with spicy Louisiana jambalaya or Spanish paella. Some even like it paired with chocolate!

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Aromas of grain, chocolate, brown sugar and molasses. Taste is fairly sweet on the palate. Great balance. Rich and full-bodied flavor with average carbonation. A: Dark ruby with a half finger of pretty dark tan bubbly head. Orange highlights. Low retention but nice streaks of lacing. S: Caramel malt smell and little else but the beer is very cold. Not much development noticed as drunk though. Maybe a little Dark fruit? T: Toasted dark bread and those subdued willamette hops that I love. A leathery touch of sweet toffee. Good balance of flavors. I like it. M: Medium bodied with noticeable weight and low but noticeable carbonation. Finishes clean, not syrupy. O: Surprisingly good. One of the best brown ales I’ve tried lately and well priced so I would recommend this and will buy it again.

12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. A cola coloured pour with a thin cream head that laces the glass pleasantly; aroma of toffee with some earthy hops; a rich, toasty, toffee flavoured body that sits nicely in the mouth and is not too sweet and has a touch of smoke; and then a dry finish with a trace of chocolate. Rather good.

Bottled 355ml. -at O’Hara Zagreb. Brown coloured with red glare, small to medium sized pale brown head, mild roasty nose. Roasted malt, caramel, mild chocolate and weak fruity with notes of caramel in the finish. Expected better.

Bottle at home shared with Sarah picked up at GBBF for a US state tick. Aroma is nutty caramel with fermenting grass notes. Later there a quite a heavy soapy element to the nose. Nice reddy chestnut brown colour with a thin but persistent light tan head. Flavour is dark fruits, raisin and figs with burnt unrefined sugars, dry with tangy fruits in the finish. Maybe a little apple note. Palate is medium-sweet, moderate to high carbonation. lightish body. Burnt sugar and tangy fruits linger in the finish.

Bottle, label says 5.6% ABV. 10C. Dark brown with a beige head that fades to a coat. Aroma of spiced chocolate and singed caramel. Moderately sweet with toffee, chocolate and spices. Pleasant enough.

Bottle. Pours brown with a reddish tint with small foamy beige head, slight caramel aroma, a bit sour caramel taste, low carbonation, medium finish. Nice ale.

Rcvd in trade: it pours a deep dark brown and leaves the same color body that gave a foamy tan one finger head that lasted a good minute, some light lacing was left; the aroma was based around some sweet malts with a toastiness that comes out as well. Some light coffee came out too. The flavoring has sweet malts combined very nicely with the roastiness leaving the coffee to faint a bit more than in the smell. Its slightly easy on the palate yet also has a degree of wateriness to it. Overall, not a bad beer, could be worth it to have again if offered
