12oz bottle from John Brown’s poured into a shaker. Pours black with a small bit of dark tan head. Aroma of coffee and coffee with a little bit of caramel. Taste is medium bitter with strong coffee notes. Full bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, very bitter finish. Overall, very good. I would drink this again any day.

Big Hunt, DC pint ($8): Pours a black color with a brownish head. Aroma is of coffee, coffee, and then some more coffee. Taste is pretty much the same. Body is super nice. Rich and velvety. Coffee flavours are in great proportion to the beer flavors. Some hop bitterness is evinced by the end. Balance was great. Not brutal like Beer Geek, but easy and mellow, yet still complex and flavorful.

Bottle. This beer is all about coffee. It tastes and smells coffee basically... It’s pretty intense. Small notes of vanilla and licorice.

12 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of potent espresso beans with little else. Flavour of slightly burnt / roasted espresso beans, with some roasted malt. Slightly bitter finish. Could use a more dynamic body, but this is solid.

(bottle) dark brown with negligible brown head; aroma of coffee; balanced flavour with strong coffee tone; I don’t care for coffee but overall this is one of the better coffee flavoured beers I have tried
