Using a fresh, custom blend of coffee beans roasted locally in Kalamazoo by Water Street Coffee Joint, this dark, roasty stout matches an intense flavor with an unmistakable aromatic punch.

Bottle. Slightly bitter and herbal coffee aroma, gets more harmonic later. Black, brown head. Big coffee roast and dark chocolate notes, demerra sugar. Light herbal in the back. Fullbodied, dry on the palate. Nice bitter chocolate aftertaste.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a thin tan head. Strong coffee nose. Coffee, tobacco and bitter hops. Not sure it all works well together, but still a nice stout.

Bottle. Pours deep black with a medium brown creamy head with good lacing. Aroma is strong coffee, bitter chocolate and tobacco. Flavor is tobacco and coffee dominated, with notes of grass in the quite bitter finish. An interesting brew, but too much tobacco for my taste

35,5 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 30.09.2011 Aroma has some roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is fulfilled with coffee, but also some dark chocolate and hints of licorice pops up. A bit different coffee beer, maybe because I am not used to Java? Good stuff anyway and almost a 4.0 from me.

Bottle, from trade with SecretSanta. It pours a very dark reddish brown body and a dense, finger-thick tan head. The aroma sure is java-ish, with roasted malts and something reminiscent of Islay peat. Loads of coffee in the flavor, with a smoked peat hint in the back. Full-bodied and smooth, finishing with java and roasted malts lasting for a long time. Although not a coffee drinker, this was a beer I really loved. 110930

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours coal black with very small light brown head. Little lacing, heavy body, and medium carbonation, and coffee aroma. Taste is roasted malt, lots of coffee, some espresso, and a hint of hops in the finish. A little hard to drink.
