Wheat Beer

Sunshine Wheat combines the refreshing flavors of a Belgian-style witbier with the easy drinkability of an American wheat. This sun-hued ale blends soft, bready malts with a burst of citrus courtesy of orange peel and coriander; a light dose of bittering hops wraps up each sip with a refreshingly clean finish.

Knock back a Sunshine and cheers to the great outdoors.

Pours with a largish, white head atop a pale yellow body. Aroma of coriander, and sweet honey, a bit floral, and some diacetyl. Taste of coconut, coriander, citrus and dryness. A bit watery. FIzzy and dry mouthfeel.

12 oz. bottle. Light color with a slight haze, and a puffy white head. Zesty lemon smell. A light American style wheat beer taste with a bit of lemon, a bit of wit spice. Orange peel shows up in the mix a little later. Not much beyond that, but good as a brewer’s year ’round beer.

On tap at Boise Hawks Baseball game. Pours out a crisp gold topped with a light white head. Aroma of ligth wheat and some beg yeast. Tast more of the yeast and light spice. A nice brew at the hot ball park.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small frothy white head that diminsihes quickly to paper thin. The aroma is orange peel, light citrus and tart. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet orange with a nice crisp refreshing finish. A good wheat ale from New Belgium.

bottle - Pours clear golden with a thin white head. The aroma is light and a very citrus accented malt. The flavor is sweet and citrusy. It’s light and refreshing, which is what they were undoubtedly trying to make. It’s not my favorite style by any means, but it has a crisp flavor that would be very nice on a hot day.

12 oz bottle thanks to my friend bringing some back from Colorado. Aroma is somewhat sweet and has a fizzy carbonation. Orange, moderate amounts of banana. Refreshing.

Bottle, 4.8%. Teaish, spicy aroma. Very pale yellow colour, very small white head. The flavour and aftertaste are citric peach. Finishes rather dry, almost like artificial sweetener. High carbonation.

Draft. Slight white head that diminishes. Pale yellow body. The nose is lightly grainy with some notes of lemon and coriander and just a touch of hop flower. The flavor is moderately sweet with very little tartness. Lively carbonation in its light body that has a watery texture. Dry finish. Comfortable but not very flavorful.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours pale yellow with a lacing head. Sweet aroma, spiced. Spiced flavour, slight wheaty texture/flavour with a distinct citrus note. Soft finish maintaining the spiced note, seems to be coriander. Good.
