Bottle. Clear bright copper colour. Small white head. Medium to high bitterness, slightly rough. The flavour has some bonbon. Rough aftertaste and thin mouthfeel.

Golden to copper color with thin white head. Mild aroma of bitter hops (grapefruit maybe) and a little bit of malt. Nice combo of sweet malt and hop flavor with a splash of hop bitterness that lingers around the tongue then sits on it right to the finish. Nice meld of flavors, delicious, refreshing summertime brew.

Copper color. Some malt aroma. Medium malt taste, more caramel, quite high bitterness, lightly aromatic. Drinkable without thrill.

Clear amber color with a medium creamy white head. Sweet floral hops aroma with some light caramel. Sweet citrusy bitter flavor with some fruit and caramel in the end.

Bottle. Orange colour with a white head. Hoppy aroma with some hints of caramel. Malty flavor with some floral hop notes. Hopy aftertaste.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber with a small, off-white head. Weak hoppy aroma. Lightly floral notes and a touch of caramel in the flavour. But mainly dry with a marked, bitter finish. 160106

2005 bottle from Liquor Mart, consumed on 11/19/2005. Amber-copper with slight auburn hints and a two-finger off-white head. Moderate retention and creates light lacing. Vigorous bubble trails show how fresh this is, and makes me wonder if buying this in Colorado vs. having it shipped out here and the purchasing it has something to do with the above-average appearance, relative to what I have experienced in the past from Avery.
Smells of floral hops, biscuity malt, light earthy dryness and notes of very soft caramel. An ever so slight touch of light oranges as well. Medium aroma strength overall. Flavor begins with plenty of citric hop flavor identifying it as an American version (surprise!), mixed with dry caramel malt and some light, flaky, biscuit-like malt. Yep, pretty much dry caramel and biscuits, a touch of dry earth, floral bitterness and more citrus than expected from the nose, though it more or less mimics the nose otherwise. Carbonation is, surprisingly, not obnoxious and overdone, nor is the texture as vapid as some of Avery’s other highly filtered creations. Medium body, light wateriness on end, no alcohol apparency. Clean.

This beer has the look, aroma, and flavor of a bitter. There are hardly any hops at all. Some bread, a little sour in the finish. Hops are barely there at all, so I have no idea why this is being called an apa.

Pour is a hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is a nice mix of oily hops and caramel malts. Flavor is a nice balance of malts and hops. Leaves a bitterness after the swallow. Tasty and well made.

Average American Pale Ale. Blend of sweet malts with a hint of hops. Subtle aroma of grain, citrus. Average carbonation. Crisp feel with a medium to thin body. Nice balance.
