近頃のクラフトビールシーンでは、ホップフォワードなラガーが新たに台頭しつつあります。West Coast Pilsner, West Coast Lager, Cold IPAなど様々な呼称が登場しています。加えて、 American IPA, West Coast IPAと銘打ちながらも、実はラガーイーストで醸造しているケースもちらほら見られるようになりました。従来のIPAの香り立ちの良さを引き継ぎつつも、味わいは軽やかで、普段ピルスナーを飲んでいる方にも気軽にクラフトビールの魅力を楽しんでいただけるスタイルです。新たなクラフトビールの面白さをより多くのお客様に楽しんでいただくために、定番ビールに仲間入りさせました。

Smell of citrus, pine. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, citrus. Flat carbon. Medium sweet, lightly bitter. Light body.

Can from Yamaya. Seems these are pasteurized. Big American hop nose: citrus, dankness, herbal resins, tropical fruit, a touch of something gin-like. I can just barely sense a lager character beneath. Slightly hazy pastel yellow with a tall, rocky head. Big hop flavor, resins, citrus, grapefruit, white grape, crackery malt. Bitter, crisp finish. Light and crisp on the palate. Not really a pilsner, but the lager character is there, is vastly overshadowed by the hops. Decent, though I get just a touch of DMS hiding in there behind the hops.
