Malt forward dark mild with toffee, cocoa and brown bread flavours. Balanced by a gentle earthy bitterness from Fuggles and Goldings hops. Traditional character with a clean, satisfying finish.

Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours a dark (almost very dark) reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head. Mainly malts in the aroma, plus some fruity hints. In the mouth it is sweet with malts and dark fruits to the fore plus traces of hops and nuts. Later there are hints of caramel, raspberries and dried fruit too. Sweetness lingers in the finish. This is decent – quite a bit of flavour for the strength.
