Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with a small white head. Aroma is caramel, sour apples, some rye, yeast and mild dried fruits. Flavour is yeasty, caramelly, some rye, mild apples, nuts and some slight fruity and toffeeish elements. Different, and actually tasty.

15-11-19 // bottle shared. Solid Alt. But I had way better ones on tap in Düsseldorf. The Mikkeller part is not adding anything extraordinary. Solid at all. Roasted malts. A mild bitterness.

Bottle from MikkellerBeerMail. Pours hazy dark brown with medium white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, sour apples, rye dough and hints of yeast. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, light acidic and light to medium acrid. Body is light oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and bitter with notes of caramel, rye bread, apple pie and hazelnuts.

Bottle from Mikkeller webshop. Malty aroma a mix of fruit and caramel. Dark brown. Thick foamy off-white head. Light-medium bitter throughout. Spice. Underlying sweet and sour fruits. As I drink more it gains sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Slick if a tad thin. Low key fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. I guess these are as close to a bitter as a lager gets . Enjoyable malty stuff.

Light brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour are malty with some caramel sweetness. Better in body than many traditional Altbieren.
