Actually brewed at Miller, Milwaukee, USA Huge fine head; fully clear pale metallic golden beer. Very grainy nose. And a strange, medicinal or dried herbal note. Not bad, boring. Starts as water, gets a metallic tang, dull-grainy dimension, then reverts to water. Metallic palate, ultra-light body. What gave American beer a bad name... Thanks, I suppose, David A, but do I detect a little sadistic streak?

Well, this is a red can with a tilted rectangular black label logo. I’m not sure how this can be Molson since the side of the can says G.Heileman Brewing, Milwaukee, WI 53201. I know Heileman is part of Pabst which is owned by SAB Miller so what’s going on I don’t know. Underneath the black tilted logo it says over a century of international brewing tradition. Also, even tho the logo says Carling Canada, it says product of the USA! Founded in 1840. Confusing!!? Sure is, I think it should be listed under Miller, not Molson. Anywho the big guys say its the same beer as this one so here it goes:
Takes two cans to fill up my 24 oz mug. Barely any visible carbonation in this pale yellow ubiquitous american lager. Aroma is non-offensive and smells like many other pale macro lagers. Pretty good tingly carbonation. Flavor is easy to get along with and rather friendly. Seems to have more alky than the 4% listed here. Not too bitter and has just enough bite to let you know it is beer. Not watered down, good beer body. Nice tingly fine carbonation thru the session. Finish is non offensive and rather refreshing compared to other cheap lagers.

Sweet fruity aroma with mild caramel notes. Sweet flavor with fruity and hoppy notes that finishes it bitter.

From tap at Den Engelske in Fredericia as Carling Extra Cold - served at 2°C. Pours pale yellow and clear with dense chalk white head. Mild bitter pilsner aroma. Flavour is medium dry and slight cornish with a light bitterness following. Ends medium bitter and dry. Not much different from any european lager. Boring yet clean and crisp.

Can: Honey and corn nose, but also a little like ass. Yellow color, thin vanishing head. Slight corn taste. Surprising rose hip finish. Better than expected but still pretty cheap.

Cannette.

This is quite plainly a mediocre beer. I had it in both of its incarnations as Black Label in a 12 ounce and Carling in a pint. Tastes like watery beer, but goes down easy. Low on alcohol and taste. Basically your standard pale lager, but still better than Bud.

Draught. Golden color, small white head. Papery malty aroma. Normal malty bulk lager (with nonexistent hops) flavor plus harsh herbal twist. Harsh aftertaste. Bad and industrial.

Blond color. Light malt aroma. Very simple flavor. Quite useless, a bit dry and astringent at the end.
