This English Pale Ale is brewed with First Gold hops for a crisp, marmalade-like bitterness and a floral lift, while Munich malt adds just the right amount of biscuit sweetness.

Cask at Ship Aground, Stafford. Pours golden amber with a sizable foamy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has floral hops and oranges with just a trace of apricot. In the mouth there is a brief initial burst of malty sweetness before strongly bitter hops flood in and swamp everything – except marmalade, and hints of biscuits and spices. There’s still a strong bitterness in the finish. Not at all bad this one.
