Blend of Barrel-Aged Imperial Stouts from Collaborative Breweries

We have the great fortune of magnificent friendships. We fostered each and every one on the back of Asheville's beauty, creativity, and lust. It's unique spirit has lured some of the world's finest brewers here time and time again, to share their craft with you and bask in the magic of these hills. They want AVL beer to rebuild, and they want to the rest of the universe to never forget about what is happening here. So we started Manifest Eternity, a fundraising program aimed to raise money for the hurting AVL brewing world, with the help of visiting brewers who have fell in love with our little town. This badass blend is its first chapter. A collective blend of barrel-aged Imperial Stouts from our frequent collaborators at Other Half, Creature Comforts, Edmunds Oast, Halfway Crooks and Pinthouse. These are our friends, the people with whom we share secrets, fine ferments, and Appalacian-born meals, each time they pass through our doors. They each stepped up to send us barrel stock at a time when we were unable to brew, to help us stay connected with you all, and with deep adoration for our community. The combination of 6 programs brings us immense depth and unique complexity we could not generate on our own. Bourbon pecan pie, cocoa powder, vanilla cream, and glazed pretzel all pour off the nose of this thing, while a sturdy booze coats your gullet.

Bottle shared by Chalumeaux (via AdamChandler)--thanks, TJ! Opaque dark brown, nice viscosity, thin head, no lacing. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts. Taste is more whiskey than bourbon, else as taste. Smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation, crisp finish as taste. Significant deep esophageal warming.

500 ml shared by Chalumeaux, Thank you! Aroma is sweet bourbon, chocolate malts, roast, nuts. Flavor level is VERY deep. chocolate, vanilla, rich roasted grain, long lasting warming after the sip. Yet, no alcohol taste. Wow, this is bold and a beast. BUT, awesome!

On draft at Forestry Camp, 8oz pour. Not for charity. Dirty, matte dark brown on black pour, quickly recessed cocoa head. Floral, woody, sharp & intense bourbon nose. Nutty, sharp & bourbon heavy. I have no idea what barrels are in here. No one here seems to know either. Chocolate-y, mildly charred, lingering walnut, cooked bittersweet rind, earthy, a little creme sweetness on the tail. Slick, smooth, thick, light acid, incredibly boozy belly burn. Okay to good. Didn't like it too much, too messy. Not a masterpiece like other Burial deliveries.
