Scáth (“Shadow” in Irish Gaelic) is a smooth, easy-drinking “proto-stout” built on roasted malts and oats, with rich notes of coffee and dark chocolate.
Further character is layered into this prototype by a long wood infusion on whiskey-infused barrel chunks straight out of Dublin: notes of vanilla, Irish whiskey, and soft tannin harmonize beautifully with the coffee and chocolate baseline.
No lactose, no flavourings, just creamy and delicious.

Draft at the Gravity Brewing taproom. Budapest. Poured almost black in colour with a short-lived, off-white head. The aroma is roasty, ashtray, caramel. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, roasty, dry light ashtray, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nice.

On tap at Gravity Budapest. Black coloured, small to medium sized beige head, light chocolate and coffee in the nose. Light roasted malt, chocolate, light filtar coffee with touch of vanilla in the finish. Bit watery but pleasant.
