Last November, we filled a few BLiS maple syrup barrels (that formerly held Heaven Hill bourbon) with our rich Pecan Pie Thief. When we deemed them at their prime, we jumped them over to Jim Beam Black barrels to finish their aging. Of course, this annual release wouldn't be complete without our friends at Little Miss BBQ. Smoking a heap of our pecans for us to condition this beer on, in addition to the signature Keystone process. Hand-split Dominican Republic vanilla beans in this release, we're getting harmonious flavors of decadent vanilla with that maple sweetness, a brownie batter type of decadence. A touch of smoke with the pecan flavors towards the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours near black with an earthy dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has vanilla and bourbon with some smoked pecan, sweet grains and a bit of caramel underlying. Flavor has a great combination of smoked pecan and maple with a good amount of vanilla, some toffee and bourbon backing.
