Beekstraat 13, Kinrooi, 3640, Belgium
Description
The brewery was founded in 1866 by Jan Vinken, who learned the trade from his father-in-law in Kessenich and later became his successful competitor. Jan passed on the knowledge of brewing to his son Christiaan, and after his death grandson Jan continued the brewery at the age of 17. The war disrupted the brewing and eventually led to the end of the brewery in 1937.
Baker, baker's son, brewer's son and family from the beginning (Narinx), but also brew amateur, beer enthusiast and seller, and other people from Geistingen came together and decided to revive Vinkenbier. This project was realized and brought to a successful conclusion in a relatively short period of time and the Geisinger Vinkenbier was launched in 2013.
