Langdale Brewing Company was established in September 2017 by Paul Fry and Steve Mitchell.

Paul Fry is joint owner of the Britannia Inn in Elterwater, Langdale and has a long term passion to brew beers for the Britannia Inn as well as other local pubs and hotels.

The Britannia Inn has its own artesian borehole which provides the cleanest, freshest water for brewing. Initial test brews proved the point and the first beer was produced in September 2017.

The popularity of blonde beers at the Britannia Inn drive us to make ‘blonde’, our first beer using the finest hops and malts from Simpsons and Charles Faram.

Steve Mitchell founder of Eden Brewery is the head brewer who has created a range of ales including a Bowfell Blonde, Elterwater Gold, Blisco Bitter, Amber Side and Pikes Pale. All are produced using Langdale spring water which helps provide its unique taste.
