Description
During the early 1990's the Preston Wine Company established a very successful wine bar by the name of Gaston's on Avenham Street. The success was mainly due to up to 20 hand pulled beers being available on it's two bars. This lead to the idea of a microbrewery being set up in the cellar and this first brewed in June 1992. By the middle of 1995 however the brewery was doing well but the pub not as well so the pub was sold to Burtonwood and the brewery moved to the Preston Wine Company warehouse at Arkwright Mill and capacity increased. This however resulted in a drop in beer sales and at the end of January 1998 the brewery was closed and the equipment sold to Brakspear as a test plant
