The brewing history of Krostitz goes back as far as 1534 when the brewing privilege was granted to the owner of the local manor. In 1878 Friedrich Oberlaender founded the Bierbrauerei Klein-Crostitz. In 1904 the term Ur-Krostitzer was used for the first time. In 1937 the Oberlaender era comes to an end as the brewery becomes a joint stock company and is renamed Brauerei Krostitz AG. After the brewery was communized during the GDR period, it became part of the Radeberg Group in 1990, since then there were numerous new constructions and conversions.
